In the latest report published, Cabernets and Malbecs from all Renacer ranges received 90 points or more, standing out for their quality.
Every year James Suckling visits our country to taste the best of the new vintages and award scores. In 2021, due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, he tasted in Hong Kong more than 1500 labels from the 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 vintages.
Renacer Cabernet Franc 2018 scored 91 points and commented "It has a fragrant nose of pine needles, eucalyptus, herbs and lemon zest. It is medium to full-bodied with firm, velvety tannins. Concentrated notes of pine and herbs, but balanced, creamy and pleasant". At the same level Renacer Malbec from the same vintage scored 90 Suckling points.
For our Final Points there were also excellent scores; Cabernet Franc and Malbec from the Reserva line, both from the 2019 vintage, scored 90 points each. These two wines continue to accumulate good ratings so far this year from renowned wine critics. In the varietal line, the Punto Final Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, with grapes from Renacer's organic estate in Perdriel, scored another 90.
Milamore 2018, the favourite of many and also of Suckling received 91 points. We share his tasting notes from the report: "Blueberry, chocolate, orange, clove and vanilla on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, with ripe, round tannins. Smooth and rich with some sweetness on the ripe, dried fruit".
In addition, our Calibre line, with 100% Uco Valley grapes and sold exclusively in the US, also scored 91 points.
Concluding his report James Suckling said: "I believe the country has reached a new pinnacle that illustrates incredible precision in winemaking, with hundreds of outstanding quality examples.
