90 Parker points for Renacer Malbecs

Luis Gutierrez, who is in charged of tasting wines from Spain, Chile and Argentina for Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate revealed the scores of the Argentina tasting. From his home in Madrid, he scored Renacer wines and our three Malbecs were awarded 90 points.

Punto Final Malbec 2019, with grapes from Paraje Altamira and Perdriel, achieved the much sought-after 90 Parker points. He noted that it is "juicy, fresh and clean, all fruit and flowers. It reveals a polished palate with good acidity and very fine tannins. It is very easy to drink. It has an excellent price/quality ratio".

Punto Final Reserva Malbec 2018, also with 90 points made with grapes from Vista Flores, Paraje Altamira and Perdriel and said it "has shown in recent years much less oak and better balance than in the past".

Our Ícono Renacer Malbec 2017, 100% Uco Valley, Gualtallary, Paraje Altamira and Vista Flores, scored another 90 points. Gutierrez commented in the report that it is a wine "with plenty of sweet spice, toast and smoke and some creaminess that, together with the warm year deliver a full-bodied, showy Malbec".

In his report, Gutierrez said, "Tasting over 1,000 wines in isolation is not much fun. But here it is. We have been forced to work like this, but it is necessary to go back to what was being done before. We need to see the action, to have an idea of what is happening in Argentina".

Finally, Luis Gutiérrez explains that "Renacer is in the process of certifying organic agriculture in its vineyards and defines its wines as modern and clean".
