The Wine Advocate revealed the scores of the Argentina tasting. Luis Gutierrez is in charge of tasting wines from Spain, Chile and Argentina. This year he visited our country after three years to taste the samples from the participating wineries and others he received at his home in Madrid.
The first winner was Punto Final Malbec 2021 with 90 points, which he praised for its light ripeness and freshness. This wine is made from grapes from the main micro-regions of Valle de Uco and Luján de Cuyo and always stands out for its undisputed quality.
Our 2020 vintage Punto Final Reserva Malbec also achieved 90 Parker points, with grapes from Paraje Altamira and El Cepillo in Valle de Uco and Perdriel in Luján de Cuyo, and stood out for its round palate and lush flavors, combining ripe fruit with fine tannins. Also from this line, Punto Final Reserva Cabernet Franc, 2020 vintage, scored another valuable 90 points. This wine highlighted its varietal intensity and excellent balance with oak.
The big orange R wine on his label, Renacer Malbec 2019, was awarded 91 points by Gutiérrez with grapes sourced from Valle de Uco, and in his words is a serious, powerful and concentrated wine with good balance.
Luis Gutierrez called his 2022 report "Continuous search for the Argentine Terroir" and called it so because he affirms that the soil of this country has much more to deliver in the future.
Fernando Sota, Winemaking Manager of Bodega Renacer, said about the scores that they are a clear reflection of the constant work on the wines we make year after year and we manage to perfect them.
