A new proposal of Punto Final Reserva Red Blend is presented in 2022 but with the novelty of being accompanied by a White Blend.
In 2021 we launched a limited edition Red Blend of four varieties based on Petit Verdot and it was a success. That is why this year Fernando Sota, Winemaking Manager, created a new version based on three other varietals.
Following the line of making a wine based on a variety that the winery considers "uncommon" in its winemaking line, they took a Merlot from Las Compuertas, Luján de Cuyo to another level and made it the protagonist, accompanied by a Cabernet Franc from Vista Flores, Uco Valley and a Cabernet Sauvignon from our Perdriel estate.
Punto Final Reserva Red Blend 2020 contains 43% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, the particularity of this wine is that the three varieties were harvested at different points and were made separately. The aging of this wine is 8 months in French oak barrels of second and third use, then in concrete vats and a 4-month aging in bottle. The number of units of this wine is 4500.
The novelty is its white version vintage 2021, a blend of three varieties based on 65% Pedro Ximenez from Junín, in the east of Mendoza, 30% Chardonnay from Luján de Cuyo and 5% Sauvignon Blanc from Medrano, in Rivadavia. The elaboration of this white wine is similar to the red, each variety is fermented separately and then the final blend remains in French oak barrels of third use for three months. The quantity of bottles is 2650.
These two new releases will be available at Enogarage wine stores and the winery's wine shop. They are priced at $2850.
