Brazilian Group Acquires Bodega Renacer, Located in Luján de Cuyo - Mendoza, Consolidating Its Internationalization in One of the World's Leading Wine Regions.
From Vale dos Vinhedos, Miolo Wine Group expanded across Brazil, exploring new terroirs. Over 35 years, the group extended its reach to Campanha Meridional with Vinícola Seival in Candiota (RS) in 2000; to Vale do São Francisco with Vinícola Terranova in Casa Nova (BA) in 2001; and to Campanha Central with Vinícola Almadén in Santana do Livramento (RS) in 2009.
From southern to northeastern Brazil, the Miolo family carries the same hope that Italian immigrant Giuseppe Miolo brought with him as a vintner in 1897, learning from the climate, soil, and vines, fostering a passion for viticulture. Now, the company is expanding beyond Brazil, launching its fifth terroir in Luján de Cuyo, the region of Argentina's first Denomination of Origin.
Located 20 kilometers from Mendoza at the foot of the Andes Mountains in Perdriel, Bodega Renacer is situated on a 30-hectare property with vineyards, some over 70 years old. Founded by Chilean Patricio Reich, the winery was built in 2003, featuring towers and walls inspired by Tuscany, with galleries and gardens reminiscent of Italy—a tribute to the family’s roots. Since 2021, Renacer has held Organic Vineyard Certification, reaffirming its commitment to environmental preservation and sustainable production.
Currently present in more than 40 countries, the wines of this boutique winery stand out in the super and ultra-premium categories. Their portfolio includes varietals and blends, utilizing emblematic grape varieties such as Malbec, as well as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and others. Their wines have been recognized by prestigious publications such as Wine Spectator, being named among the top 100 wines in the world.
In addition to being a winery of excellence, Bodega Renacer is also a renowned wine tourism destination, offering visitors a variety of immersive experiences that celebrate the culture of wine and the richness of the local terroir. Argentine cuisine is a highlight at the Renacer Restaurant, which was recommended by the Michelin Guide 2024. The menu focuses on fresh and seasonal ingredients, reflecting a local, sustainability-oriented cuisine that, combined with high gastronomy dishes, creates unique flavors and memorable experiences. The winery also offers experiences like Wine and Tango, two Argentine classics, bike tours through the vineyards, picnics, winery tours, and wine tastings.
With the acquisition of Bodega Renacer, Miolo joins the ranks of international wine brands, producing labels in different regions and styles, offering the global market a broad and diversified portfolio. Additionally, the operation in Mendoza will provide the group with a true exchange of technology, knowledge, and experiences.
“For us at Miolo, this is an important step in the internationalization of the company and the expansion to a new terroir—our fifth terroir. With this, we also keep alive our essence as ‘pioneering’ vintners, a legacy that dates back to 1897, when Giuseppe Miolo arrived in Brazil, crossing the Atlantic to plant his first vines. Now, we cross Brazil’s border in search of this new terroir,” says Adriano Miolo, Managing Director of Miolo Wine Group.
