Decanter magazine organized an exclusive tasting panel for Cabernets Francs that made it possible to analyze the diversity and quality of this variety. All the wines were tasted blind by three experts. A total of 149 winery labels from South America, the United States and Canada participated in this panel.
The results were published in the September print magazine. On this occasion, Punto Final Reserva Cabernet Franc from the 2021 harvest obtained 94 points and was placed in the "highly recommended" category.
The judges pointed out the aromas of blackberry, spicy, dark cherry, blueberry and green fruit in the mouth in this wine; They also highlighted the integrated tannins and its delicious freshness of green leaves in the finish. They closed pondering its complexity.
The panel concluded that Cabernet Franc is emerging as a promising variety in the panorama of wines from these regions, reaffirming its quality and establishing itself as a "rising star".
